The Challenge

The existing IMPACT application was a monolithic system that was costly to maintain and prone to failure. Its limitations hindered the real-time flow of data from state police cruisers to the central database, delaying critical safety analysis. MassDOT needed to modernize this system to be more efficient, reliable, and accessible, all while reducing its operational expense.

The new platform features a modern, microservices-based architecture that ingests real-time crash data directly from state police terminals.
