About Delta Dental

Delta Dental is the nation’s leading provider of dental insurance, covering 85 million people through 39 independent member organizations. As stewards of both sensitive healthcare and financial data, maintaining the highest level of cybersecurity is fundamental to their mission and the trust of their members.

The Challenge

The Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA) mandated that all member organizations adopt a zero-trust security posture aligned with rigorous NIST standards. As a key member, Delta Dental of Rhode Island was tasked with leading the charge. They needed to design and implement a comprehensive security solution that met these complex requirements and could be efficiently replicated across the entire national network.

The Solution

Acting in a vCISO and vCTO capacity, Infused Innovations designed a pioneering zero-trust architecture. We engineered a solution based on the Microsoft XDR ecosystem, carefully mapping its controls and policies to the specific NIST 800-53, 800-171, and 800-207 mandates. This engagement was structured not as a one-off project, but as the creation of a national blueprint for compliance and security.
